What you need to know about refurbished cell phones...

A Cell refurbished is as good as new—at least that’s what handset manufactures claim. Many of us are apt to believe this claim because it is backed by a warranty, which extends to ninety days in some cases. In some instances a cell is refurbished when buyers return it within the thirty day trial period. This makes it as good as new, but there is really no way to know for sure why a cell phone has been refurbished.

Still, some buyers have concerns about a cell refurbished, since after all, it is not really new and someone has previously used it. The concerns are not altogether misplaced, but when you consider that a cell refurbished can be purchased for almost a quarter of the price, it makes sense to keep this option open.

Many cell users take a fancy to new models, which have more functionality. It is more like buying a car, though the older one may work perfectly well. In the case of a cell, the wear and tear is much less because there are no moving parts in it. In these cases a cell refurbished is fully functional. Some buyers are fastidious about the looks of a cell refurbished. In such cases, a simple change of the outer shell would do the trick.

Some people buy a refurbished cell phone for purposes other than communication. Some music buffs are known to buy models because they have a fabulous music collection. These people generally go in for the latest models. There are those who purchase a cell because of the camera, some for the internet, and others use it as a micro computer. As a rule, more complex a cell phone is, the more the possibility of it malfunctioning. Before buying a cell which has been refurbished, you must make sure that all the functions are working properly. Some of us are in a hurry to strike a bargain and forget to test it thoroughly, and this can prove to be a costly mistake.

In the case of some cell manufacturers, the reason for a particular cell being refurbished is stated clearly. For example, an AT&T cell is refurbished if the product has been returned during the thirty day trial period. This means that the cell most probably had been working properly before it was returned. The company does additional tests and installs the latest software before selling it. In such cases, a warranty is also provided. Unfortunately, you may not wish to purchase a cell from such companies.

A cell refurbished may be a good bargain in most cases. If the cell phone is a critical part of your work or business, it is always advisable to purchase a new one in a factory-sealed package.
